Font and Style: We used a bit of simplicity but we also added an effect to it to make it look different let it look simple but special amongst others. This mirrors our horror film I believe the way the victim is a simple teenager like every other but then she become special when she receives white eyes that posses her at anytime. Simple but special. It does not conform but it challenge the conventions of a horror film as majority have red righting to signify there will be a lot of death allowing the red to mean blood, whereas ours is plan white on a plain black background. However the affect it has on our audience conforms as it still creates that spooky feeling that is needed which is exactly what we wanted to portray.
Setting and Location: From our researching and planning done before hand we found out that a lot of horror films are filmed in abandoned dark spooky places that have dark history behind them for example, 'The Conjuring, Insidious and Cabin in the woods. We didn't want to conform and be stereotypical we wanted to be different as to the reason we challenged the conventions of a horror film and based it within a bedroom. However the films that are set in a bedroom it is always the victim this time we switched it up it is the victims friend's house instead. This was to bring a sense of normality to scene. Having the victim being of such a young age and being at friends house shows the audience that no one is safe where every the go, making the audience feel a bit uncomfortable and scared.
Costume and Props: Costumes and props is one of the most essential things in a horror film we didn't want to challenge the convention just in case it made the film un-successful. So we decided to conform it and by doing that we conformed it by getting white contacts because when you think of a horror film you would expect to see something demonic or possessive. So that is exactly what we decided to just creating a different storyline that would never be expected. When thinking about the colour of what the contact should be we had to think a lot because colour plays a main part in a film as it adds affect to the things that are de-connotes. White is pure colour and so having them in someone that is demonic and possessed by the undead is really challenging the convention, well so I believe anyway.
Camerawork and Editing: Our film opening was handheld camera with only two camera techniques, this is because we was inspired by 'The Blair Witch' and ' Paranormal Activities' especially with how successful the films were and how much acknowledgement it received, We tried not to use edit as much so it looked like a found footage film that was left in that same house that was recorded. The only types of editing that were used were dissolve transitions and that was so it flowed nicely with the continuity.
