Question 3: What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

'White Eyed Possession' is an low budget film with the British film industry, to be able to get recognition it would have to be distributed at a film festival such as the 'British Independent Film Festival'. It helps promote film-makers film to an appreciative audience helping them be recognised by others to help promote their film within the UK. If this did become a success which I do believe their may be a 50/50% chance that it might, then it would become mainstreamed and shown at multiple cinemas such as Odeon and Vue, within their smaller screening rooms just to be able to get small feedback from different people to see if they should show it to a larger group to make the film a
bigger success. After it has been screened at the cinema for about 2 weeks, it may be released on DVD and Blu-ray this al depends on how much a good profit the film got and what people thought about it. This would be sold at stores such as HMV however because of the century we are you are able to download and watch on laptops, or any social networking site possible. Also to be shown at local cinema's such as the Picture house in Clapham Common.

Our production company 'Galaxy Production' would seek to employ a good distributor such as 'Universal Pictures' or 'Warner Bros., who are both currently distributing 'Godzilla' and 'A Million Way To Die'.
Our product demonstrates that you don't need to stereotype and conform a horror film, you can challenge it and make it your own. The fact that you also don't need all the special effects to make a film successful, (for example 'The Blair witch Project'.) they also don't always make a film scary, it does help build tension and suspense but there is more to it. Our layout of our film and the script-writing as well as the use of camera work is able to prove this. I do believe that our film should be screened as it can be a huge success, even though it doesn't conform a horror film, it has a lot of value to appeal to a mass market.

I have researched the current films that are showing at Cineworld as that is a local cinema to me, they are only showing one horror film so I think it would be best to screen the film there as it would be able to capture a lot of people's attentions especially how majority of the films are comedy and they may want a change of genre. Apart from that Cineworld is the second most largest multiplex cinema chain within London, all the films that are screened there are spread world wide, helping our film be noticed by others.

However I wouldn't just branch my film to my local cinema's, branching out would be better so that I am attracting a wider audience, giving my film more knowledge to receive a bigger profit. however if I picked my local cinema it would branch to all their others cinema also allowing the film to be viewed worldwide.
